Asset Recovery in Iraq

Donor: GIZ “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit”

Duration: November 1, 2024 - December 31, 2025

Over the past two decades, Iraq has made strides toward democratic governance, but key areas, particularly asset recovery, remain hindered by weak legal frameworks and limited international cooperation.

To address these challenges, the Asset Recovery in Iraq project, funded by GIZ Iraq and led by Transparency International Lebanon (TI-LB), delivers a blended learning program combining a self-paced online course with four in-person training and coaching sessions.

These interventions aim to build lasting institutional capacity by strengthening legal knowledge, cross-border coordination, and investigative skills. The project also features ongoing evaluations to ensure the curriculum’s relevance and sustainability.
