Corruption Investigator – Ta7arra’ k

Goals & Objectives:

The Corruption Investig@tor project aims to engage youth and communities in the fight against corruption by tracking and exposing cases of corruption on a news site, Mokhtar.com, in tandem with an advocacy campaign to promote the passage of the access to information and whistleblower protection laws.

• Train 240 youth (aged 18 to 29) in 6 governorates on transparency and accountability, access to information, advocacy, social media, and investigative journalism,

• Forge a partnership with Mokhtar.com to create an objective, reliable online news platform for tracking and exposing cases of corruption in public administrations,

• Lobby decision-makers for passage of access to information and whistleblower protection laws,

• Promote a culture of public accountability and transparency


Results:

a. 240 youth were trained on transparency and accountability, access to information, advocacy, social media, and investigative journalism,

b. 12 investigative reports were published on Mokhtar.com,

c. Advocacy activities were conducted to promote reform and a culture of accountability and transparency
