Fida Jadayel Turk was born in 1966 in Beirut and attended the Lebanese Evangelical School for girls (LESG). She graduated with a Lebanese Baccalaureate II in Experimental Sciences in 1983. Mrs. Turk attained her bachelor degree in Business with an emphasis on accounting in 1986, a master’s degree in Business management in 1989 from the Lebanese American University, and a University Diploma in Health codification from the University of Saint Joseph USJ in 2004.
Mrs. Turk’s objective is to serve her community through investing her extensive experience and resources. She is currently the procurement acting manager and the internal audit manager at the Makassed Philanthropic Association of Beirut, while also working as a university instructor at the American University of Science and Technology (AUST).
She is a non-practicing member at the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants (LACPA) and was a sworn expert in front of the Lebanese courts – Accounting - for the period 1992-2004. She is also a member in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and Lebanese Management Association (LMA).
She had previously been a board member of the Barraj Hospital, under the custody of Dar Al Fatwa. She has over twenty eight years of considerable experience in both the public and private sector. Her experience covers external and internal auditing, financial management, procurement, and also teaching accounting, auditing and taxation at a university level. In addition, she provides trainings in seminars and workshops, and lectures at conferences.
She was the head of internal audit department at Rafic Hariri University Hospital – government entity - for twelve years from Oct. 2003 till Dec. 2015. During this period she had acted as the Head of Finance and Administrative Affairs from June 2005 till Aug. 2007 and the Head of Procurement and Material Management from Dec. 2010 till Aug. 2014.
Mrs. Turk has a substantial background of over ten years of experience in the auditing profession. Starting in 1988, she has worked with several international audit firms such as Arther Anderson, Horwath International, Talal Abou Ghazaleh, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). As such, she has covered several industries and sectors ranging from banks, manufacturing, trading and real estate companies, schools, orphanages, and newspapers. Additionally, she has gained experience in internal auditing at the Arab African International Bank as well as financial management at Finance bank and 123 Holding.
With over 16 years of experience in teaching at a university level on the subjects of accounting, auditing and taxation; and supervising research projects with emphasis on professional ethics, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR). She continues to enhance her career by attending and lecturing in conferences, seminars, and workshops which are organized by her member organizations such as the Bassel Fuleihan Economic and Financial Institute of Ministry of Finance.
